Peripheral Arterial Disease

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) affects 19% of the general population and up to 29% of higher risk subgroups (> 70 years old or > 50 years old with history of smoking or diabetes). Our PAD Clinic is devoted exclusively to the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of peripheral arterial disease. In advanced cases of PAD, a hospital-based catheter-based procedure may be necessary to open clogged arteries. With the optimization of transcatheter devices, catheter-based approach is feasible today even in patients with highly complex PAD. CTO devices, laser or rotational atherectomy, second-generation nitinol stents, drug-coated stents, drug-coated balloons, covered stents, cryo-therapy can be successfully applied by our skilled board-certified interventional cardiologists. Dr. Marmagkiolis and Dr. Caballero are available to discuss with you in detail about this option.
